MLS playoff clinchers and eliminators (Edition 1)

Well, the last week is upon us. And 4 teams are not out of the race (San Jose Earthquakes, Los Angeles Galaxy, Toronto FC, FC Dallas). The two teams that left that have a chance to make it that currently aren't in are Colorado Rapids and DC United. The East have clinched 5 wild cards, RSL will lose tiebreakers if Colorado takes the West 3rd and Colorado cannot be tied for a wild card spot. Here are the remaining playoff scenarios:

MLS playoff clinchers and eliminators (Edition 2)

Down to the final 2 weeks of the 2008 Major League Soccer season. We see Columbus secure the Supporter's Shield as Houston could not get a better result than Columbus. Los Angeles Galaxy revived their playoff chances with a win over Colorado Rapids. There are still no teams eliminated from playoffs. Well, lets just head right into the clinchers and possible mathematical eliminated teams for the following week.

MLS playoff clinchers and eliminators (Edition 3)

With just 3 weeks (hence, Edition 3 title), three teams have now clinched playoffs (Columbus, Houston, New England). However, not teams are out of the playoffs, and there is still a good chance that all teams will be live after this next weekend as well. Even though there are still over 31 billion scenarios to play out the season (3^22), I have determined many of each teams' scenarios to clinch or be mathematically-eliminated from the MLS playoffs for the next week of games.
