RSL's high potential despite loss in playoffs

Soccer life comes to an end in Salt Lake as the post keeps several chances out for RSL to book a spot in Carson, CA for the MLS Cup. Instead, the New York Red Bulls cling to their lead from one mistake by RSL in the back. Although the result of the game was heart-wrenching, the potential of our fan-base is great. From the south-end jumping and banging away their passion to the rest of the fans taking this loss standing and chanting to their extent, I am proud of what heart our team had on the field and the support we gave them for that performance.

New England Revolution vs Real Salt Lake

Real Salt Lake's Javier Morales chipped Matt Reis (after a poor clearance from the keeper) and a recovering Michael Parkhurst for a well-placed first goal. A 6 minute period in the 2nd half produced the remaining goals of the game. In the 73rd minute, Andy Williams struck a perfect volley from a Morales floated pass. However, New England was not going to lose a result at home. Steve Ralston capitalized in the 77th minute off a weak clearance from Nat Borchers. Taylor Twellman got a couple good bounces leading to his 79th minute goal, but his strike was anything but luck. Late in the match, Andy Williams got sent off with a straight red after an altercation with Jay Heaps (received only a yellow), causing Andy to miss RSL's inaugural game at the Rio. The game ended 2-2 as RSL pulled away from the 3rd place tie in the West with the Colorado Rapids and FC Dallas.

San Jose Earthquakes vs Real Salt Lake

Movsisyan gets two, Darren Huckerby gets two. However, Javier Morales gets the game-winning goal off a free kick to give Real Salt Lake the crucial win. RSL moves ahead of DC United for the final wild card spot in the playoffs with this win, and the DC loss.

Real Salt Lake Team MVP?

After reading scaryice's MLS Team MVPS post, I was wondering who is the leading candidate for RSL's Team MVP?

Houston Dynamo vs Real Salt Lake

Goals galore! Only the second 7 goal game in RSL's history of league games. Interestingly enough, the other 7 goal game was a 4-3 loss @ Houston Dynamo last year. RSL gets each of the first two goals answered within minutes from the reigning champions. Then, a great 30 yard shot by Ricardo Clark and a break-down in RSL's defense lets Nate Jaqua have an easy goal to give Houston the 4-2 lead at the break.
