RSL's high potential despite loss in playoffs
Soccer life comes to an end in Salt Lake as the post keeps several chances out for RSL to book a spot in Carson, CA for the MLS Cup. Instead, the New York Red Bulls cling to their lead from one mistake by RSL in the back. Although the result of the game was heart-wrenching, the potential of our fan-base is great. From the south-end jumping and banging away their passion to the rest of the fans taking this loss standing and chanting to their extent, I am proud of what heart our team had on the field and the support we gave them for that performance.
Colorado Rapids vs Real Salt Lake
Real Salt Lake comes out stagnant in the first half, with minimal possession in the middle and over-the-top balls finding no one. Colorado capitalized as Jordan Harvey sent a lofted ball from the middle line over Jamison Olave to an on-rushing Conor Casey. Casey settled himself and looped the ball over Nick Rimando for the 1-0 lead.
Which RSL will finish the season in October?
Real Salt Lake has split up the season into three different trends (2 negative 1 positive).
The first 9 games of the season saw a slow starting team trying to gel. The first full off-season for Kreis and Lagerway featured more than half of the players not from the previous off-season roster. So, the slugglish start can be attributable to the team getting used of playing with one-another.

San Jose Earthquakes vs Real Salt Lake
Movsisyan gets two, Darren Huckerby gets two. However, Javier Morales gets the game-winning goal off a free kick to give Real Salt Lake the crucial win. RSL moves ahead of DC United for the final wild card spot in the playoffs with this win, and the DC loss.
New York Red Bulls vs Real Salt Lake
Robbie Findley misses two early chances, each going wide of each post. However, Findley makes up for the near-goals by setting up Yura Movsisyan with a flick-on. Yura just rolled the ball past Jon Conway for the only first-half goal. Red Bulls answered quickly in the 2nd half by a controversial no-call, when Olave fell down as he was shielding the ball from Juan Pablo Angel. Angel quickly got to the ball and put past Nick Rimando for the equalizer. Later on, a whiff by Jorge Rojas gave Dane Richards a chance on a volley.
