Real Salt Lake vs FC Dallas

RSL's 2nd game in Rio Tinto stadium did not see a sellout. :(. FC Dallas capitalized early as Marcelo Saragosa got his head on a corner-kick-like throw-in from Adrian Serioux. However, Saragosa turned into the goat for FC Dallas as he received 2 yellows in an 8-minute span to be ejected. Real Salt Lake finally settled into this game after the ejection, as they played possession ball keeping FC Dallas running around the pitch.

RSL's goals started coming in the 35th minute as a nifty back-heel from Javier Morales gave Yura Movsisyan a one-on-one with an FC Dallas defender. Movsisyan got a little space and shot. A deflection left Dario Sala with no chance to stop the ball. A second goal came from one of the wickedest shots in RSL history. Chris Wingert from a wide position plays in to Will Johnson at the top the box. Johnson pops the ball up and side-volleys it near post past a sprawling Sala. The clincher in the 86th minute saw Robbie Findley (with a good touch, I swear) quickly create space one-on-one and fires in the upper corner far post, once again leaving Sala with no chance.

In the end, FC Dallas gets knocked out of the playoffs, since New York Red Bulls and Kansas City Wizards both earned a full 3 points in their matches. RSL nearly clinched their playoffs, but Colorado earned 2 mysterious penalty kicks to keep them alive. Maybe next week at Colorado is now our most important game of our history.

Great game to be at! Very fun and exciting. Mathis would have had two or three goals if he was quicker.

Im guessing with the name 'uteman23', you had a great day on Saturday with the Utes game and RSL game. My throat was raspy as all hell by the end of the day.
