Houston Dynamo vs Real Salt Lake

RSL - 3 | HOU - 4 | 16 Aug 2008

Goals galore! Only the second 7 goal game in RSL's history of league games. Interestingly enough, the other 7 goal game was a 4-3 loss @ Houston Dynamo last year. RSL gets each of the first two goals answered within minutes from the reigning champions. Then, a great 30 yard shot by Ricardo Clark and a break-down in RSL's defense lets Nate Jaqua have an easy goal to give Houston the 4-2 lead at the break. The second half featured an even match with a lot less opportunities than the first. But, RSL did pull one back late with a great finish for Deuchar, who had not scored since May 3rd (893 league minutes).

I normally love Winger, but

I normally love Winger, but he was garbage this game. Sending direct passes on the grass to the foot of the Dynamo is one thing, but not marking your man is another. He could have prevented 2 goals if he had stepped up to Clark and if he hadn't been jogging behind Ching but actually marking him.
Overall, the defense and midfield this game were absolute garbage (with the exception of Borchers). It was a painful game to watch, as we played so horribly.
I also have to blame Kreis. Starting Cutler, who was terrible, and not fielding a team with any hustle in the midfield or defense. They truly looked like a team that had taken the last month off and did not want to play.
Credit to the forwards and borchers, who worked their butts off in spite of their mates.
